Here’s How Fans Can Buy World Cup 2023 Tickets In Next Phase From September 8-TGN

After the massive outrage and demands of fans for more tickets to be put on sale for the World Cup 2023 matches, the BCCI has announced that it will release 400,000 more tickets for the tournament from September 8 in the next phase of the selling.

The majority of the fans hadn’t been able to get hold of tickets for the marquee tournament in India and showed their frustration and anger on social media. This also included former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad who sided with the fans.

The original selling phase of the tickets had ended on September 3.  There has been a huge demand for tickets from the fans and after consideration with the state associations, the BCCI has announced it will release 400,000 tickets more for the World Cup 2023 in India in the next batch on September 8.

It has been learned that the BCCI talked with the state associations that will be hosting the tournament to release more tickets from the member’s quota to the general public quota.

How can fans buy World Cup 2023 tickets on September 8?

The next batch of World Cup 2023 tickets will go live on 8 PM IST on September 8. Fans will need to register on the official ticketing website on https://tickets.cricketworldcup.com/explore/c/icc-cricket-world-cup.

The tickets for the semi-final and final will be sold on September 15.

Fans will be notified of the further sale of tickets in the next phase in due course.

The BCCI had already been facing a lot of backlash from the fans for their delay and mismanagement of the entire process regarding the World Cup 2023. The schedule came out as late as only 100 days away from the tournament’s start, and the schedule was further revised, which further delayed the release of tickets.

In comparison, the tickets for the 2019 World Cup in England were sold in September 2018.

In its statement, the BCCI said that it “deeply acknowledges that fans are the heartbeat of the tournament, and their unwavering passion, engagement, and contributions are pivotal to the success of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023.”

The WC 2023 will start on October 5 with England taking on New Zealand.

The semi-finals will be played in Mumbai (November 15) and Kolkata (November 16), and the final in Ahmedabad on November 19.
