What Will Good Omens Season 3 Have In Store For Crowley & Aziraphale?
Despite Good Omens season 1 covering the entirety of the original book penned by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, it has been revealed that both authors had planned an eventual sequel that Gaiman intends to use as the basis for season 3. With the season 2 finale seeing the unlikely couple separated by Aziraphale’s decision to return to Heaven and take up the role of Supreme Archangel, the pair will likely find themselves in a position they have not been faced with since the very beginning of the Earth itself.
Charged with leading the Second Coming as part of his new celestial role, season 3 will inevitably see Aziraphale’s loyalties tested like never before. Where once Aziraphale had the freedom to do as he pleased far from the oversight of his “home office,” he will be under much closer scrutiny as Heaven’s new Supreme Archangel. It is a position that will probably see him working at direct odds with his former demonic compatriot Crowley, who would likely seek to derail the coming of a new Messiah much like he once did with the Antichrist.
However, the looming threat of Second Coming aside, what most viewers really want to see from Good Omens season 3 is for Crowley and Aziraphale to reunite and live happily ever after. Whether Gaiman will actually deliver audiences the happy ending remains to be seen, but anticipation is steadily building as the show’s fandom awaits news of an official season 3 renewal.
