Other Fan Casts For The Live-Action Legend of Zelda Movie
Immediately after the live-action Legend of Zelda movie was announced by Nintendo, social media erupted with fans sharing their dream castings for various roles. Tom Holland remains a popular choice for the lead role of Link, who has been a popular fan cast since there were rumors of a live-action Legend of Zelda series on Netflix. Around this time, Emma Watson was also a popular choice for the titular princess.
However, with a movie now in development at Sony, the two may have fallen out of favor. Holland, now 27 years old, might be too old to play Link in live-action, as he is about 10–17 years old in the games. On the other hand, Watson hasn’t acted in five years, with speculation increasing that she may be retired. However, at 33 years old, the Harry Potter star is about the perfect age to play the 37-year-old princess.
Schafer is currently the more popular choice for a live-action Zelda, with fans pointing out her striking physical resemblance to the character, including her elf-like ears. Another popular, yet slightly sneaky choice for the role of Link is Morgan Davies, an up-and-coming Australian actor known for his roles in Evil Dead Rise and One Piece season 1. With a live-action Legend of Zelda movie in the works and the SAG-AFTRA strike officially over, Link and Zelda will be cast in due time.
