Mitchell McClenaghan Trolls A Pakistani Who Tried To Take A Dig At BCCI-TGN

In the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India, the world has witnessed an astounding spectacle of cricketing excellence, particularly in the formidable performance of the Indian pacers. With their exceptional seam, swing, and sheer pace, the Indian fast bowlers have consistently dismantled the opposition, earning accolades from cricket fans.

The Indian pace attack, led by the dynamic duo of Mohammed Siraj and Mohammed Shami, backed by an arsenal of talented seamers, has been nothing short of remarkable. The combination of raw pace, impeccable line, and length, and the ability to extract movement from the wickets has made them a force to be reckoned with.

Mohammed Siraj, the young sensation, has taken the cricketing world by storm with his ability to swing the ball both ways. His precise control over line and length, coupled with his sharp bouncers, has consistently troubled batsmen. Siraj’s impact on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 cannot be understated. Mohammed Shami’s mastery of conventional and reverse swing is unparalleled. He possesses the rare skill of making the old ball talk, often deceiving batsmen with late swing. His exceptional performances have been pivotal to India’s success in the tournament. In addition to the two Mohammeds, India’s pace battery also includes Jasprit Bumrah, who has made a significant impact with his breakthroughs right at the top with pace, swing, and seam movement.

The impeccable performances of the Indian pacers have not been without controversy. Some critics, including former Pakistan players, have raised questions about the extraordinary movement and swing generated by the Indian bowlers.

In a recent interview with ‘ABN,’ the former Pakistan player expressed his scepticism, stating, “We are seeing that when they are batting, they bat really well and suddenly the ball starts doing things when India bowl. There have been 7-8 close DRS calls that have gone in their favor. The way Siraj and Shami were swinging the ball, it seemed like the ICC or the BCCI were giving them different balls in the second innings. There needs to be an inspection done on the ball. There could also be an extra layer of coating on the ball for swing.”

The controversy sparked a heated debate within the cricket community. Former New Zealand player Mitchell McClenaghan quickly responded to the comment, dismissing the claims. McClenaghan tweeted, “Narh is this for real? He realises everyone picks from the same box of balls after the toss hahaha if this isn’t satire, I think there needs to be a full investigation into his mental health.”

A Pakistan fan also attempted to take a dig at the Indian team, insinuating their influence over the ICC. In response, Mitch trolled him back with a light-hearted but pointed remark, saying, “Just want to let you know… the earth isn’t flat.” This was a reference to a belief held by some Pakistanis (Muslims) that the earth is flat, contrasting with the scientifically established knowledge of an oval earth.
