Top 10 Tweets Hailing The GOAT As Virat Kohli Hits 50th ODI Century-TGN

As fans had been anticipating, Virat Kohli broke both of Sachin Tendulkar’s major records  – most runs in a single edition of a World Cup and 49 ODI centuries – together in one innings.

With his knock of 117 runs in 112 balls against New Zealand in the World Cup 2023 semi-final on Wednesday at the Wankhede Stadium, in front of Sachin Tendulkar and his statue, Kohli notched up his 50th ODI hundred and broke Tendulkar’s record of 673 runs from the 2003 World Cup.

After Rohit Sharma had set a platform, with his blistering knock of 47 runs in 29 balls, Kohli took over the anchor role while Shubman Gill and Shreyas Iyer continued the attacking mode. This kept both stability for India and a run-rate over 7 runs per over, which made it possible for India to go past 350, which seems a winning total at the moment.

Kohli shared a partnership of 93* (86) with Shubman Gill, who had to retire hurt due to cramps, and then of 163 (128) with Shreyas Iyer, who recorded yet another half-century score, following on from his century against the Netherlands in Bangalore.

Kohli cracked 9 fours and 2 sixes in his 50th ODI century. Fans hailed Kohli for his brilliant century today and for attaining the record of 50 ODI centuries. Here are some of the best tweets on Virat Kohli today.
